The library is hosting its own version of March Madness this month with 16 of students’ favorite books competing for Book of the Year.

Students can help choose the book of the year by voting every Wednesday for which book they want to be a finalist. Students can vote by scanning the QR code on the CCHS Tournament of Books posted outside the library and around school

“March Madness is (the) top 16 favorite books from throughout the year of Caney Creek, and we put them on a bracket so it’s kind of like March Madness for college basketball but we do it with books that people get a vote on their favorite books and fill out the bracket as they go.” Librarian Elizabeth Main said.

Participants who win their bracket will receive a prize.

“If they win their brackets, they win the entire thing and they get candy or basketball, (and) we put their face on the KPN,” Maine said. “It’s really fun.”

The competition will last until the first week of April to give students extra time to vote with Spring Break. Main also wants students to know that the library will be hosting a book fair from March 23. 2023 to April 3, 2023.
