ONE LAST HUG. Coach Gretchen Kloes hugs the seniors from the varsity team after their victory against New Caney High School on March 17, 2023. Having so many seniors who contributed to the program for as long as they have, it was a special night for them having their families there celebrating their success. Because of their leadership and because they wanted to send them out with a positive positive note and theyre the first team to play six a soccer here at Caney Creek and that comes with pressure. And that comes with expectations and Kloes thought they handled themselves really well, Weve actually never have such a good game, it was 1-1 until the very end and then managed to score with three minutes left to take the win and when you have that kind of emotional game, youre emotional because of that, Kloes said. She experienced something new after the game from any other year, After a game they all kind of came together and wanted to like each person talk and say something about like, were going to miss this and were going to and that hasnt happened before and I think they really understand like what it means to be a team and what it means to be a family and so it was it was very emotional for everybody. There were lots of tears.
