SPORTS RECAPS 2/13-2/16: Track runs 1st meet of season

Wrestling

The wrestling teams wrestled at Allen in their regional tournament. The boys placed 9th with seniors Jaden MacKinnon (2nd), and Daylin Manning (4th) advancing to the State tournament on Friday and Saturday. The girls team placed 14th with Junior Emma LaCount (2nd) advancing to the State tournament.

Boys Basketball

On Tuesday the boys basketball team played at New Caney in an away district game losing 58-42. They took on Cleveland on Friday losing 63-45. They will play the final game of the regular season on Tuesday at home against The Woodlands.

Girls Basketball

On Tuesday the girls basketball team played the last game of their season ending on a win against New Caney going 38-32.

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team took on The Woodlands on Tuesday in a losing effort going 5-0. They bounced back against Oak Ridge on Friday winning 4-1. They will take on Conroe this Thursday in a home district game.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team played at The Woodlands losing 6-0. They took on Oak Ridge on Friday winning 2-0. They will play an away game against New Caney on Monday. On Thursday they will play at Conroe in an away district game.

Powerlifting

On Saturday the boys competed in their district meet with seniors Joshua Henry, Luis Rodriguez, and Jostin Segura placing and advancing to the regional tournament

Softball

On Friday the Softball team played a home game against Eisenhower winning 20-1 . They will play again on the 21st against Grand Oaks in an away district game.

Baseball

The baseball team will play Cy Ridge at an away scrimmage on Tuesday and C.E. King at a home scrimmage on Friday. 

Track

Varsity track competed at the Lake Houston relays in Huffman. The girl’s thrower 4×100 meter relay got 1st place, which included Addison Blanks, Jaidyn Howard, Danielle Keuthan, and Emma Mitchell. The girl’s Sprint Medley Relay team, which included Jalila Burd, Karen Santillan, Emily Garcia, and Emily Rosales, broke the school record with a time of 4:52.88. The boys 4×800 meter relay, which included Alex Castillo, Tyler Zubik, Michael Nunez, and Morghen Vawter, got 1st place with a time of 8:23.27. JV will be competing at the Porter meet on Wednesday while Varsity will compete in the Wildcat relays in Splendora on Thursday.
