SEASON OVER. Junior Karen Arreola gets ready to set the ball to start the last set of the game on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 at New Caney. The volleyball team finished its season with a victory over New Caney High School. “I think we played good, I just expected myself to play better but overall we played good as a team, Im happy I can finally go home after school,” Arreola said. “But I know Im going to want to be in season again in a couple days.”

MAN TO MAN. Freshman Howard Ruffin fights to get out of a trap from a defender from The Woodlands High School on Feb. 14, 2023. Ruffin started out on the Freshman A team, the coaches recognized his work and eventually moved him up to varsity mid-season. The varsity had an advantage in the first minutes of the game, but ended their season with a loss. “I felt like we should have taken that win home, we started off great and we just couldn’t finish strong,” Ruffin said.
Boys Basketball Tryouts Starting
Focus on the pins. Sophomore Abby Cross bowls against Willis on Jan. 25, 2023. She throws her last bowling ball expecting it to be the last one she throws for the season but ends up making it in third place for regionals. I enjoy bowling because me and my brother would come up here a lot, Cross said. He told me to make it into regionals so I put a lot of work into it and now were going to regionals.

Logan Day is the boys sports section editor and photographer for Student Media at Caney Creek high school. This is his first year on staff. Logan is also an athlete and is playing his first year of Water polo as a wing, and his second year of baseball as a center-fielder for CCHS.
