Blanks wanted to donate blood to prepare herself for what to expect her senior year, so she can earn her blood drive chord. “Me and my sister, we agreed to do it together,” Blanks said. “I know that blood is gonna go towards something like, it'll be used for something important, hopefully, can save a life or help somebody.”

UNDER PRESSURE. Senior Alecxia Santos holds a small stress ball while a nurse checks the blood pressure. Santos after her donation was left light headed, but she believes it was worth it. “I felt like I could pass out,” Santos said. “I ate nothing but at the end of the day it was good.”
