More than 88% of students think suitable time management is important according to a survey conducted by Greenfield Online. It can help students improve their academic performance and discipline by maintaining a consistent schedule.

Students should create a daily planner, establish a routine, and give each task a time limit so they can get things done in a timely manner.

Without suitable time management students would be dealing with the weight of balancing school, a social life, and work. According to TimeHabits, lacking an organized routine could lead to students being overwhelmed and frustrated with having to balance life and school.

“Poor time management can lead to lack of sleep and low energy levels,” which can cause mental health issues. It’s important that students create a routine that would make it easier to prioritize and plan tasks in a timely manner. According to Harden Elkington  , by creating a plan, prioritizing tasks and taking regular breaks to improve focus and productivity, and organization . Students will be able to better manage their time and complete tasks more efficiently. With practice time management becomes easier and helps students academic performance.

Studies by Dane Jensen, a contributor at Harvard Business Review, shows that time management doesn’t reduce stress of students ,but it increases it because of the pressure that they are feeling. According to an article by Twist an ,accept that you can’t do everything. Instead of letting dozens of anxiety- inducing, unfinished tasks snowball on your to-do list day after day, complete them.

However, according to Brad Aeon, an Assistant Professor at the School of Management Sciences at University of Quebec , structuring, protecting, and adapting time to changing conditions. Structuring refers to how people map their activities to time using a schedule, a planner, or other devices that represent time in a systematic way to help students reduce procrastination.

Time management should be required so that students don’t have to stress and contemplate on whether or not they are going to turn in their assignments on time. Time management would also help students work to their full potential to deliver high quality work.
