Soccer Coach Andrew McGregor chose 3 players to go against the other three basketball players. “The whole team was hype and encouraging our players who were competing,” Cruz said. “It was probably one of the funnest pep rallies we’ve had this year.”

Freshman Counselor Sophia Meza bonds with her youngest son at the pen pal station on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Caney Creek high school. Mrs. Meza has two kids, the youngest being named Marcel turning 3 on March 15 and the oldest is named Alonso who is 9 years old. “I really enjoyed and was amazed by the variety of activities available as well as the people who were facilitating the event, since they were very attentive to my children.” Meza said.
NEHS holds story night
VOCALS. Junior Abby Cross sings “God Bless this child” by Billie Holiday at the Jazz band and Percussion concert on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024. Cross was the vocalist in some of the pieces that the band played. “My friend, hes a drummer in the Jazz band, he invited me like, ‘Hey, you should come sing for the jazz band,’ so I did,” Cross said. “It was very loud and everyone was just there to listen to jazz and the atmosphere was great.”

START. Sophomore ZiaYiah Bookman deadlifting on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at Willis High School. Bookman started her deadlift with her first attempt being 160 lbs then proceeding to 200 lbs and 232 lbs at the end. “To be honest, I could have gone higher but stayed low,” Bookman said. “Going forward I need to keep pushing, you know, step out and do something.”

NEHS meets pen pals on field trip

She was glad to be at the ceremony and meet new Lions members. “I felt such a euphoric feeling just to be there and like to be able to win an award for a Leo club,” Martin said.
