PRE KICKOFF.

NJROTC
The NJROTC Air Rifle team competed in the Area 17 Spring High School Air Rifle Championship on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. The precision team took 1st place with a score of 2181 in the competition and the Sporter team finished 3rd overall.

  • Cadet Terrazas placed 1st with a score of 559 and earned a bronze junior achievement award. 
  • Cadet Garcia placed 2nd with a score of 551 and earned a bronze junior achievement award. 
  • Cadet Aleman placed 3rd with a score of 543 and earned a bronze junior achievement award. 
  • Cadet DiSomma placed 2nd in sporter with a score of 497 and earned a silver junior achievement award. 
  • Cadet Henderson placed 3rd overall with a score of 488 and earned a silver achievement award.

UIL Academics
The team competed at the Montgomery Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 and took 2nd place overall in the tournament.

Jacquelyn Palacios is a staff reporter at Caney Creek High School. Palacios is in her first year as a staff reporter. She will be a first year member in the NEHS club. Jacquelyn enjoys fishing with her older sister and father every summer. She also enjoys reading thriller and romcom books.

Jorge Ventura is photographer at Caney Creek, he takes photos of sports, clubs & organizations and in school events. This is his first year being apart of staff, previously he was on Caney Creek basketball team as a freshman. He is also apart of AV video and production class.
