This year some the school’s sports teams came together to be introduced to the community at Meet the Panthers. Parents, community leaders, teachers and coaches gathered to wish the athletes a great year.

The gym was fired up with music from the band, cheers and the coaches introducing the teams. The Starlettes also made an appearance. This year’s Meet the Panther was bittersweet for Starlette Officer Darbie Cooper, she is a senior this year.

“I am sad and excited, this season will be great for my girls,” Cooper said.

This is also an exciting year for some of the players being introduced as some were moved and making their debut in the varsity team.

“This is a great opportunity to go to a good college and I see a good future for the team ahead,” sophomore John Legg said.

The Mighty Panther Band, with 160 members, also enjoyed being on the spotlight. They played many of their old tunes as well as some new favorites like “Wake me Up” by Avicii.

“It was exciting and fun,” freshman Isaiah Berger said.

Everyone involved at Meet the Panthers had a great time and is looking forward to an awesome 2014-2015 season.
