How would other people describe you as an athlete?
Well respected and determined.
How and why did you start playing?
PE was just too easy and I needed a challenge.
Describe how you prepare before a game/tournament.
We all huddle up and say a prayer.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
I just don’t want to walk during the race, you never walk in the race, it is the main thing we practice for.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
The day of district because those were the best runners of every school, even though it was one mile, it was hard because of how crowded it was, thankfully I did not get last.
As an athlete, who is someone you are thankful for and why?
Coach Banes, he would push me all the way and give me confidence every day.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
It is hard but don’t give up too easily.
What’s on your sports bucket list?
To go under 5 minutes in 1 mile.
