How would other people describe your high-school self?
Athletic and competitive.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching.
Always wanted to be a professional soccer player.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
I got into teaching because I realized that I liked the grammar aspect of the spanish language
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I like to spend time with my family. I have two young ones at home, and I like spending time with my siblings. And when I get the chance, I like to hang out with my friends as well.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
I seem kind of like an introvert, but once they get to know me, I’m pretty outgoing. My hidden talent would be that I can basically make anyone laugh. I know alot about the history of the soccer world.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
Putting myself through college just because of how hard it was. I was an immigrant here, and I was a first generation, so I had all the odds against me and pushed through, and pretty much did it.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I would say my parents, just because they brought us here for a better future.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I would say, just believe in yourself and don’t give up on your dreams.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered for being the best you can be, like having that discipline, I know people get caught up with the routine and stuff, but just be your best self and be disciplined and respectful, hopefully that you can remember by being that, like showing up everyday and giving your best.
What’s on your bucket list?
I would like to travel more, it’s harder with young kids, but I would like to go to Europe, and go and visit all of these historic soccer stadiums.
