How would other people describe your high-school self?
I was a bit of a trouble maker but I stuck up for people when they needed it (like) when people were being bullied or mistreated. I feel like I get (the desire to help others) from my grandmother; she was always a servant at heart and I think her legacy continues through me.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching?
I am considering being a lawyer mainly because you can defend people and also because I was really good at arguing.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I absolutely love kayaking. It’s a big stress reliever and I love to read.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
That’s a hard question, I’m most proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and beginning my journey to teaching through a youth program in my church.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m really thankful for my grandparents they stepped in and became my parents basically and they taught me a lot of life lessons.
What was your favorite life lesson you got from them?
Just really to love others and to be kind because you never know what someone is going through or what they face outside of the interaction your having with them and so you should always treat them respect and kindness.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered as the teacher who cares because I do really care and just make the difference in someone’s day.
