Biles’ Big Week

Caney Creek High School varsity football player Zack Biles had a big game in the Panthers recent win over Waltrip High School. He earned the Conroe Courrier’s High School Player of the Week award but knows he couldn’t have done it on his own.

“My teammates really help me be successful.” Biles said.

Biles has grown up with the game of football. He started playing when he was just four years old and hasn’t stopped since.

“My dad signed me up to play when I was four and I’ve loved it ever since,” Biles said.

One of the things that really makes him such a standout football player is his versatility. Whether it defense, offense, or special teams he seems to be out there making a play. When asked about what positions he plays he smiled and said, “Pretty much anything.”

Like many young quarterbacks Biles looks up to Peyton Manning as an example of how to play the position. He tries to implement some of the things that makes Manning so great into his game when he’s at quarterback.

“I like how he is in control of the game he is when playing,” Biles said of Manning.

Along with football, Biles is also a varsity athlete in both baseball and track. He hopes to be able to play football and baseball at the collegiate level but knows it won’t be easy.

“The next level keeps me motivated because it gives me something to go for.” Biles said.

While right now, all the talk about him is football, Biles thinks he is actually a little bit better at baseball.

“Its kinda hard to choose a favorite. I like to play football, but I think I’m better at
baseball,” Biles said.

For now though, Biles is focused on football and hopes to carry the momentum from his big game against Waltrip into district play.
