How would other people describe you?
Hopefully enjoyable to work with, hard working, and loyal.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching?
I wanted to be a pilot. I’ve always enjoyed driving or controlling any type of vehicle.
Tell us about how you got into teaching?
Well my dad is a teacher. I’ve always enjoyed working with students. I was a youth leader for a long time at my church. I just like working with people and students. It has a lot of benefits and I enjoy doing it.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I like all sorts of outdoor stuff. I like hunting, fishing, riding my 4 wheeler and hanging out with family.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
I’m a very loyal person.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
Being the first in my entire family to graduate from college. My parents didn’t, my grandparents didn’t. I’m not the first to go to college but I was the first to graduate. I’m pretty proud of that. My parents were too.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m thankful for my girlfriend because she motivates me to be a better person everyday.
What advice would you give to someone pursuing a career similar to yours?
I would say just make sure you’re passionate about it because as most people know teachers don’t make a lot of money so you gotta enjoy what you’re doing.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope that some of my students learn skills in my class that they will apply later down the road and think back and be like “I’m glad I paid attention in Mr. B’s class.”
What’s on your bucket list?
Flying a plane. Even if I don’t become a pilot, I would still like to fly a plane.
