Saturday, September 27, Woodforest National bank is hosting their fifth annual charity run in downtown Conroe. Last year, after an employee of 29 years named Robert Hall passed away, the bank decided that, in his honor, they would create the “Robert Hall of Fame”.

Vice president of Woodforest Bank, Amber Crupper, addressed Caney Creek High School’s Cross Country team, this years inductees into the Robert Hall of Fame, on Thursday, September 25 and explained to them that, “…It’s all in honor of Robert,” and reminded them just how special the opportunity is.

Crupper and her Woodforest staff teamed up with their business partners, including the Houston Rockets, to provide the inductees with a few special gifts. The gifts included a Rockets “Swag Bag”, and a brand new pair of adidas running shoes. The prizes were something the participants really weren’t ready for and came as a bit of a surprise.

Senior Caelan Cour-Palais signed up for the event simply because he likes running and explained that, “We weren’t expecting all these awesome gifts!” Cour-Palais said, “I signed up for the run strictly for charity.”

CISD Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton was in attendance for the presentation Woodforest put together for the newest members into the Robert Hall of Fame and took a brief moment to talk to the students about how great the opportunity is.

“Thanks for representing the school,” Stockton said, “Running is a great thing.”

While it was all for charity, the runners ran hard and brought home some medals to go along
with the experience itself. It was an awesome time for the team and something they can carry with
them the rest of their life.
