How would other people describe you?
Outgoing, Friendly, Loyal, Dependable and Independent.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
I graduated from college in 2007. I went to work for Mattress Firm for about nine months selling mattresses, and then I decided that I should put my degree to use and started teaching in 2008.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
Hang out with my daughter and my husband. My daughter plays softball so that consumes a lot of our time, and we also have lots of friends that have kids, so we all get together and hang out.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
How old I am.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I am most proud of myself for being able to have a happy, healthy life where I’m able to support my child and my daughter is definitely the best thing I’ve ever done.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
My mom and my dad. They’ve been divorced since I was little, but they both played a huge role in my success, both academically and emotionally.
What advice would you give to someone pursuing a career similar to yours?
To do it because it’s lots of fun and I love coming to school everyday and seeing all my kids’ faces. I love coming to school to be able to just hang out with them. It’s about teaching, but it’s also about getting to see them everyday.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
Being the best teacher ever.
What’s on your bucket list?
Travel all over the world. I’d most like to go to Greece.
