Generation Texas Week Door Decorating

Danya Salinas, Reporter

Students and teachers decorated their classroom doors with their favorite colleges, not only for a big prize, but also to benefit students’ future.

The event was statewide and created different kinds of ways to inform students about their options of what to pursue after the completion of high school.

[The event was to] “inform students about colleges and careers,” College and Career Center Counselor Diane Hernandez said.

The doors were able to be designed however the teachers and students pleased. There was a wide variety of different colleges being shown all over the school, including some, which advertised many different colleges.

After being carefully judged and observed, the winners of the contest have been decided.

The College and Career Center and Mrs. Reid received the prize for most whimsical design, Ms. Smith and Mr. Kelley won awards for being most spirited, Ms. Ingle won the award for being the most original and Ms. Pennington received second place winner for class participation. The Grand Champion winner and most inspirational award was given to Ms. Renner’s third and fourth period classes.

All of the listed classes will receive ice cream bars on December 5.
