How would other people describe you?
I could be described as quiet, observant, some people may say nosy. I pay attention to details.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching.
I wanted to be an optometrist, yeah, but that didn’t happen, and for years, I worked as a research associate. I did genetic research in the private sector, and I also did some research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I love to read. So I read all kinds of stuff. I watch movies, but just certain movies. I’m not silly. You know how like you there’s some comedies and they’re just, like, really, really, really silly, yeah, just really, I don’t like it just gets dumb I don’t like those kinds of movies. I like comedies, but not to, yeah, not dumb, like the Adam Sandler type stuff, I’m not big on Adam Sandler. Yeah,
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
I think they’re most surprised to learn that I actually talk, because when I first meet people, I’m like, I’m very quiet. I don’t really say much. I spend a lot of time observing people, and so when they get to know me and I actually talk, they’re like, Oh, I didn’t know you actually spoke. I didn’t know you actually interacted. But I do
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I would have to say that I am a mother. I have a daughter, and I’m most proud of myself that when I first had her, I didn’t think that I was going to be able to care for her the way she needed to be cared for. And I’m most proud of myself for being able to just be the mother that I have become.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’d have to say my daughter, I’m most thankful for her, for her.
What advice would you give someone pursuing a career similar to yours?
I would give them is that, in terms of being a school librarian, this job is it takes a lot of different skills, and don’t assume that just because you love to read, that this is the career for You, because it takes more than just loving to read
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered for the way that I treat people. I try to be a person who is positive and a person who is helpful and not someone who causes problems or tears down people or hurts anyone. So I hope that I will be remembered as someone who is helpful and someone who is caring.
What’s on your bucket list?
My bucket list? Well, I’ve always wanted to visit Europe, so hopefully one day I’ll get to do that.
