An easy to get along teacher. I love what I do , teaching spanish, interacting with the kids, and being a positive role model for them.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching.
Not really, I’ve done all kinds of work, worked all kinds of fields.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
I feel like teaching was a calling because of my three kids that I have and what made me motivated, helping my kids at home when they were growing up with their school work attending their activities that they did at school, from elementary growing up, being part of my son’s basketball team, my daughters starlettes team, all that stuff got me motivated, how can i be in this environment? Oh it’s called education, you got to get educated to be a teacher in this environment.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I like to play baseball and basketball, mainly basketball. I like to work around my house, the yard, mow the lawn, this year I was able to buy myself a 2024 Suzuki Boulevard M109R. It’s a nice motorcycle, a lifelong dream I had always dreamed of owning one and thank the good Lord I was able to afford one. I do a lot of cruising on my motorcycle after school. I enjoy life out there. I do anything and everything to keep me busy and help my wife around.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
I’m a very loving and caring human being. I love what I do. I enjoy interacting with kids’ parents.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
The proudest I was of myself was when I first got my bachelors degree, back in 2005 from Texas State University, was when I got my bachelors degree, out of all my siblings I was the first that got educated. It was a very proud moment for my dad and mom to see me accomplish this.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m thankful to the good Lord because I don’t think I would be where I’m at if it wasn’t for the Lord, the plans he has for me are incredible. I can also thank my parents for always being there for me, pushing me forward to getting a high school diploma.
What advice would you give to someone pursuing a career similar to yours?
If you have a dream, follow it, if there’s something that you want to achieve, it can be achievable as long as you put your mind into it, effort, and time.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
As a loving, caring human being, a teacher who really cared for his students in the classroom, I try to make it fun and exciting for the kids, and for kids to see me as someone that really cares for them.
What’s on your bucket list?
Tour around the U.S. on my Suzuki bike.
