Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching.
The medical field.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
My kids started school and I spent a lot of time in the elementary schools with them. I coached the robotics team there and I decided I wanted to do that.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I spend a lot of time with my family. We hunt, we fish, we ride ATVs, we play games. Just a lot of family time.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
That I have 4 kids.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
Getting back into the career world. Probably that I raised my kids for 12 years, stayed at home and decided to go into teaching, passing the test and being able to be in a classroom within a couple of months.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
My husband and kids because they support me and love me.
What advice would you give to someone pursuing a career similar to yours?
Maybe to stay positive and on track. Don’t let things bring you down and keep on going.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope all of my students remember me and enjoy being in my classroom.
What’s on your bucket list?
Go to Europe. I’d like to go to Italy, Rome, Venice, you know the sights.
