Unfriended Will Make You Fear the Internet

The movie Unfriended is about six high school friends who decide to have a video chat on Skype and unexpectedly receive a message from an old classmate named Laura Barns. Barns committed suicide a year ago because of someone uploading an embarrassing footage of her on Youtube. Laura Barns takes form as an insidious ghost seeking revenge on the bullies by tormenting them with paranormal activities behind their computer screens.

With almost 800,000 likes on Facebook, the movie Unfriended has written and produced by Nelson Greaves. He wanted to inform, not only younger generations, but all ages about the problems of cyber bullying.

“It’s a very serious issue that’s not quite on people’s mind,” Greaves tells The Daily Dots reporters.

Even though bullying has been spreading on social media, Greaves wants the audience to be careful on what they post on popular networks accounts such as  Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Snapchat. Not only does it save good memories, but also keeps the regretful ones too.

Unfriended will be in theaters April 17, 2015.
