Starlettes High-Kick Thugs

This past Friday, Starlettes traveled to Moody Gardens in Galveston for the National Dance Competition. They arrived just in time for their dinner reservations at Rainforest Cafe.
After dinner they noticed that some of their stuff had been moved and then they realized they had been robbed. After having to dig through dumpsters to find their stuff, the Starlettes showed “remarkable courage” during their unexpected ordeal.
“When we got back on the bus, we noticed that our stuff was gone, and we started freaking out, we had to call all of our moms to see if they took the stuff off the bus,” freshmen Heather Bridges said.
After arriving at the hotel, the team looked through their belongings. Almost everyone on the team was missing something, Purses, I.Ds’, cash, iPods and the costumes they were going to wear to the competition that was just hours away.
“I started crying, I was scared I wasn’t going to get it back because I had my solo and duet the next day; I was devastated,” Bridges said.
Ms. Kloes called the police to let them know what was going on. Hours later she received a call from the officer working on the case. Galveston P.D. had arrested the primary suspect of the robbery and allowed Gretchen Kloes, Kloes sister, and two parents to search the suspects’ house and reclaim the rest of the missing items.
“Normally, all of our belongings would have been taken down as evidence and who knows when we would have seen them again, but because they knew how important this competition was, they were able to get us all of our stuff back that night,” Kloes said.
After a stressful Friday night, and getting barely any sleep, the Starlettes weren’t sure they could compete in the morning, but they kept their positive attitudes and came out as National Champions in Team Production.
The Starlettes will be hosting a Spring Show on April 17-18 at 7:00pm in the auditorium.
