UIL Academics
The UIL academic team competed at the Waller tournament on Saturday, Feb. 01, 2025. The journalism team placed 2nd overall and the social studies team and Speech and Debate team placed 3rd overall in the tournament.

Social Studies

• The team of Santiago Morales Castro, Edgar Mazariegos, Karla Torres, Daniela Vargas, and Marjorie Vargas placed 3rd overall. 

Journalism

• Logan Day placed 6th in copy editing, 4th in feature writing, 3rd in news writing, and 1st in headline writing. 
• Jacquelyn Palacios placed 7th in headline wiring and 4th in news writing. 

Speech and Debate

• The team of Joselin Guazozon and Zoe Aubrey placed 3rd in the CX debate. 
• Breshad Robinson placed 5th in LD debate and was the tournament champion of Persuasive Speaking. 
• Liliana Alcaraz placed 3rd in LD debate
• Ava Aldridge placed 9th in LD debate and 5th in Persuasive Speaking. 
• Camila Blancas placed 2nd in Poetry
• Polly Prince placed 5th in Poetry
• Melanie Roman placed 3rd in Prose
• Ervin Bonilla placed 6th in Prose
• Claire Garcia placed 5th in Informative Speaking

Theatre
The Theatre department held cold reading UIL one act play auditions on Monday, Jan. 27 and Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025.

NJROTC
The NJROTC drill team competed at Magnolia on Saturday, Jan. 25 ,2025 in the Magnolia drill meet competition. The color guard team finished 2nd place.

Speech and Debate
The Speech and Debate team competed in the UIL CX district tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025.

Film club
The Film club held a club meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025.
