How and why did you start playing?
It started off as with my older brother Michael Nunez, whenever he was recruited for cross country his 7th grade year and me and my little brother started to run together during intermediate when we joined the 100 mile club and ever since then I have kept running.
Describe how you prepare before a game.
Get a good night’s sleep and stay hydrated.
What do you think your reputation is as an athlete?
Being one of the fastest runners and always being there and having consistent improvement.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
We pray before any race.
Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.
My favorite memory as an athlete was whenever we went to galveston and ran on the beach, and I remember that I had won 5th place overall.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I remember specifically the tony invitational race my sophomore year, I had forgotten to drink water that day and i was really dehydrated and i was about to finish the race and I was running the last stride to finish the race i feel myself tilting to the side and next thing you know I’m on the floor and waiting for the ambulance to come.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
My mom because she is always there to support me during every race and my teammates because I have made so many memories with them and they are like my second family.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
It’s a hard process and you will feel like you want to quit but you just have to keep on pushing.
What’s on your bucket list?
Go to UTA and become a profiler detective.
