How would other people describe you?
Nonchalant, white tall, funny.
How and why did you start playing?
My mom had asked me if I wanted to play T ball, if I wanted to play soccer. So I like to try soccer.
Describe how you prepare before a game.
Go to Subway with a friend, and then we come back and we just sit in the benches with the team. Used to get locked in to try to have fun. They go in the locker room, they try to put on some music. I just try to keep my mind clear.
What do you think your reputation is as an athlete?
I don’t think I really got one.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
I don’t really have any after but before the game I do a quick prayer.
Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.
Freshman year went to the playoffs for the first time. It was my first time playing highschool soccer. It was just a fun experience.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
Probably making the varsity team as a freshman. I was in eighth grade, and McGregor came and watched our games in eighth grade. And I could tell you, I could tell you he was talking about me because he was pointing and looking at me. And then when I came over, I tried out, and he had me training with the varsity. I didn’t think I was actually going to be on varsity, so that, like, kind of like, just kind of sat in my show, was kind of shy. And then eventually I got more and more comfortable, and I got able to start for varsity, getting some good teams, and then eventually, at the end of the year, I got all district honorable mentions as a freshman.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m thankful for my friend Mario. He graduated already and I’m just thankful for him because he was like my first friend on the varsity team and he’s the one that really made me feel comfortable.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
To do some conditioning , a lot of running, and then just trying to play for yourself. There’ll be a lot of people out there trying to make you play for them but you should start playing for yourself.
