I would hope they say laid back fun spirited and my nickname they call me in big red

Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before becoming an AP?

I actually worked in retail at Lowe’s home improvement as a sales manager for about 8 years before i got into education but if there was a career that i think i would want to do it would be to become a singer 

Tell us about how you got into being an AP.

I was actually coaching at the time. I coached for about 10 and a half years and I was at Grand Oaks and the opportunity came open to come over here to be an AP and I applied for it and got the job.

What do you do outside of school for fun? Why? 

Pretty much just hanging out with my family. Kind of lay low don’t do a whole lot.

When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you? 

I would say that if you judge me from the outside a lot of people think i’m mean but when you really get to know me i’m actually just a big teddy bear.

Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.

I would say I am most proud of myself for my son. He is in college and he has done a really good job and is a successful young adult so I would have to give credit to me and his mom for that.

Who is someone you are thankful for and why?

My parents because as a young person you don’t appreciate your parents but as you get older you really start to take the time to appreciate them and what they did for you when you were growing up.

What advice would you give to someone pursuing a career similar to yours?

I would tell them to make sure you do all the research and make sure that you have a passion for this because if you don’t it’s going to be a hard profession to do. If you’re interested in meeting different people and having an impact on individuals’ lives then this is definitely the career that you’d want to be a part of.

What do you hope to be remembered for? 

Just patience and kindness and always trying to do right by everybody regardless if there is a student or a staff member.

What’s on your bucket list? 

Eventually I’d like to travel somewhere overseas. I don’t know where that is because I can’t be on a plane very long but eventually I’ll figure out somewhere to go.
