Summer has come and gone and the 2015-2016 school year is upon us and students around the school are excited to kick off the new year.

“I’m ready to get this last year over with,” senior Talor Brandon said

The first few days of high school can be an overwhelming task to handle, especially for any student that is new to the school.

“The first week was alright,” freshmen Chace Garner said.

For many students getting to see friends and some of their favorite teachers plays a big part in helping them get through a tough first week.

“It was good to catch up with friends” junior Freddie Jones said.

This year the creek welcomed another big freshmen class adding to the already crowded hallways that we all know and love.

“There definitely isn’t much freedom in the hallways” senior Craig Keuchel said.

As school starts it can also be hard to wake up early after a summer of waking up when you want to.

“I didn’t feel like waking up early the first couple of days,” Jones said.

For seniors the first day represents the beginning of a busy year that will include making many big decisions that will have a big impact on their futures.

“I am pumped to fill out college applications,” senior Peter Pham said.

While the school year may have just started, students are already looking forward to some of their favorite parts of the year.

“I’m excited for homecoming and Friday Night Lights,” junior Danielle Segrest said.

Everyone is ready for the new year and hoping to make it the best one yet.
