New Fish In The Bowl

It’s that time of year again, a new set of freshmen are coming in. But before the first day, the annual fish camp was held.

As these new students come in they are excited to be here and start their High School career.

“I’m most excited to meet new people,” Haylee Raska said.

First impressions are important when you are going to a new school you want to make a good impression on your teachers on the first day, but why not find out what the first impressions of their new school is?

“I thought it was really big,” Danielle Hernandez said.

Expectations are high when it comes to high school, the movies about high school are usually over dramatic about it and the stereotypes get crazier each year, but people like Jacob Ramshur keep perspective.

“The experience overall, I’m looking forward to going to college and learning new things,” freshman Jacob said.

As we know, clubs are pretty important in high school. Not only they look good on your collage application, they are a good way to make friends. So I asked students what clubs are you most looking forward to.

“Bowling and Band,” freshman Haylee Raska said.

Going to a new school with new people that you haven’t met can be scary but Jacob doesn’t think that it would be a big deal.

“Well I’ve never really moved around that much but I’m just kind of used to it,”  Jacob said.

Being a freshman is definitely hard when you don’t know anyone, don’t know the layout and especially when you don’t know where your classes are. Being nervous your freshman year is normal, everyone experiences it.

“Even more nervous, cause I’ve gotten lost here before,” Hernandez said.

Freshman camp came and went, and these freshmen are starting to realize high school isn’t as bad as they thought it would be. Even though the freshman will get lost and crowd the halls, they also can’t help it the first few days of school. So if you see a freshman struggling to find something, help them, because we were all freshman once too.
