How would other people describe you?
People see me as hardworking, funny, and kind.
How and why did you start playing?
I was running one day and Coach Banes saw me, so I guess he thought I was doing good and asked me to run on the team the next day.
Describe how you prepare before a game.
I wake up at 3am to get ready, put on my uniform and get my tracksuit, and head out the school afterwards. Once I get there, I help to load the bus and eat a small snack.
What do you think your reputation is as an athlete?
I would say my reputation is pretty normal, I’m not that fast – although I think people see me as hardworking.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
Before racing, I gather up my teammates and take time to have a prayer together.
Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.
My favorite memory as an athlete would be when I beat my personal best and achieved a 19:39 on the 5K meter.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I am proud of my academics and being able to compete on varsity for cross country.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I am thankful for my coach, Coach Banes, because he saw I was working hard when I ran. Even though at the time I didn’t want to play Cross Country, he ended up convincing me to join.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
Always work hard and never stop running. Even a short break while running can lead you to slow down and let someone catch up.
What’s on your bucket list?
My bucket list consists of graduating college, being able to buy a home, and just in general, make money.
