Meet The Teacher vs. Open House

Meet The Teacher was held the Thursday before school began, instead of having our usual Open House, which is usually held after the start of school, the new Meet the Teacher still gave students, teachers, and parents a chance to see what this year was really all about.
“I think it’s a great change of pace. Everyone getting their schedules before school starts gets them excited for the new school year,” junior Samantha Brinkley said.
Some students didn’t care too much for the new event because it was “strange”, meeting new people before school starts. They prefer Open House, because it gives them a couple of weeks for them to actually settle into the environment and meet their teachers.
“I didn’t like Meet The Teacher, I prefer Open House because it’s less awkward. You can actually carry on a conversation because you’ve already met one another and have gotten to know them a little better,” senior Ashley Shaw said.
Other students don’t mind which event is chosen to meet their teachers for the new school year.
“I honestly can’t tell the difference. I haven’t been to any other event before, this was my first one,” senior Gavin Meuth said.
Whether you prefer Meet The Teacher or Open House, this school year is sure to be an amazing one filled with excitement, happiness, and a lot of responsibility.
