The cross country team has had more kids running, leading to competition between the runners.

The cross country team has attended five meets, including district, so far this year.

Even with the setback of not being able to run during the hurricane Harvey the runners have been improving each week, Head Coach Marci Wilson said.

“The hurricane really hurt us because we lost quality training right when we were getting in shape,” she said. “However the kids keep fighting through it and (dropped) time each week.”

Emily Carrisales is one of the varsity girls team runners that competed at district last week.

Carrisales said, “I feel positive and excited because we all have worked hard.”
