Bellingardi makes choir area auditions
Dec 14, 2018
Choir students performed at pre-area competition Nov. 28, and had one student advance to area.
Choir students compete in the district division first, then after succeeding they move into region. The students that surpassed these levels are: Silvia Arroyo, Dalton Sugg, Enzo Bellingardi, and Michael Rodriguez. All were able to pass prior competitions and have a chance to audition in pre-area, but Bellingardi was the only one to make it to area.
“I’m feeling really confident about my music and the way I can perform it,” Bellingardi said. “I love auditioning, I like just chilling out with my friends in between auditions. I love this rehearsal we do in the beginning where everybody (the sections) are singing all together. I just love competition all around.”
Senior Silvia Arroyo said she likes the teamwork aspect of competing and how they all cheer for each other. Even though she did not proceed to area, she says that she might pursue a major in music.
“I’ve been staying after with Ms. Robertson, she’s my go-to person,” Arroyo said. “She is helping me with sight reading and how to make my music more musical.”
Junior Dalton Sugg also performed at the pre-area competition but did not continue.
“It’s going pretty good, a little shaky on some things, but it’s going as good as it can be,” Sugg said. “Meeting a lot of new people is always the best part. I’ve made a lot of new friends going to competitions.”
Along with Arroyo, fellow senior Michael Rodriguez went to compete, but did not succeed.
“I’ll be honest I’ve had mess-ups of course, but that’s normal.” Rodriguez said. “I like (competing because of) the socializing. You get to see a whole bunch of people who are into what you’re into.”
Bellingardi will compete against other Bass one’s Jan. 12, 2019.
