JV A girls soccer bounce back against Dekaney Wildcats

The junior varsity A soccer girls team made a big comeback last Tuesday by drawing 2-2 against the Dekaney Wildcats varsity team.

Sophomore Ruby Castillo scored the first goal with a penalty shot while senior Madeley Garcia scored tied it up with 18 seconds left.

“I was so happy when Maddie scored that I pinned her to the ground … I felt we did pretty good considering it was a varsity team,” Castillo said. “There’s still things we have to work on, things like better communication but I think that with hard work and perseverance, we’ll have a good outcome of what’s coming up on district.”

JV B got its first win of the season with a 2-1 score over the wild cats. The goals made where by Freshman Jaycey Burgess and sophomore Driany Diaz

“After I scored, I was thrilled to have been able to tie the opposing team…. I was happy to have been able to help my team to victory,” Diaz said, “I think that if we continue to play as a team and first of all have communication, we can have a very good season.”

The lady panthers varsity team plays against Lake Creek while the junior varsity B team will play Aldine this afternoon.
