School picture day set for next week
Oct 2, 2020
Most students and staff will take their school ID photos Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6.
All 9-11 grade, in-person students will take pictures through social studies classes Monday, while all 9-11 grade, remote students will take pictures Tuesday.
“It is important that all students have their ID pictures made,” journalism adviser Stephen Green said. “We use IDs for safety purposes on campus to make sure everyone knows who is who. The other reason is many families want school pictures of their students but their students either don’t show up, or they wait too late to purchase them.”
Remote students can show up any time Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Students will enter through the lobby of the auditorium, rather than the front office. Once they enter, a Caney Creek Student Media staff member will escort them to the stage to have their pictures taken, or placed in socially-distanced seating while they wait their turn.
Seniors will take pictures in January.
“We moved the date to next semester to be able to keep the cap-and-gown tradition, while also having a way to maintain proper safety in the age of Covid,” Green said. “There was not enough time nor supplies to have a safe cap-and-gown transfer student-to-student unless we moved the process to January.”
Memories Unlimited in Conroe will be taking all school pictures.
