GA-34 will go into effect March 10, opening Texas to 100%. “All Texan know safe practices.” Hospitalizations and positivity rate are lowest in 4 months, according to Abbott.
“Make no mistake, COVID-19 has not disappeared,” Abbott said. “But it is clear from the recoveries, vaccinations, reduced hospitalizations, and safe practices that Texans are using that state mandates are no longer needed.”
Texas is receiving more than 200,000 initial doses of the newly approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine. In addition to almost 1.5 million vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna this week.
“People are still getting covid and getting sick with or without masks,” junior Jennifer Salinas said. “I still get emails that people get Covid. Everytime I breathe, I see the fogginess in my glasses.”
Abbott plans to continue with Covid-19 vaccine distribution; about 1 million people receive a vaccine in a week, and plans to give more than 7 million by next week.
Conroe ISD post on twitter. “In light of Governor Abbott’s announcement , ConroeISD is seeking additional guidance from the TEA regarding safety measures and health standards in place. All safety protocols will remain in effect in ConroeISD schools and facilities until further clarification is obtained.”
