The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival originated in 1990 and is having their 24th annual festival starting this coming Oct. 10th through Oct. 13th. However, student day will be Thursday, Oct. 10th.

The festival includes many activities, including country musicians, carnival rides, the Catfish Pageant and the Red Boot 5k Run.

The music lineup will include various artists like Dirt and Diesel, Rod Brothers Band, The Dolly Rockers, Josh Ward Band and many more.

The carnival has many rides for kids and the Kidz Zone features live dance teams, community groups and entertainers.  About 450 performers will be on the stage to entertain the kids.

The Mr. and Miss Catfish Pageant is on Saturday the 12th in the family zone. Girl ages can be 7 to 17+ and boys 0 to 8+. Participants will then be placed in different age groups.

The Red Boot 5k run is on Oct. 13th at 10:30 a.m. The run is to help raise money and awareness about the importance of organ donation.
