Dancers Prance to a Christmas Beat

The Starlettes alongside dance classes one, two and three, hosted their annual winter show dancing to Christmas favorites. There was one thing different about the show this year. Instead of being called “Fall Fandango,” the show was newly named “Winter Wonderland.”

“I felt that Winter Wonderland fit better because the show takes place in December,” dance instructor Heidi Kloes said. “December feels like winter instead of fall.”

The “Winter Wonderland” had a great turn out, nearly filling the entire auditorium.

“There was a lot of people out there,” senior Starlette Bradi Cade said. “I did not expect that many people to show up, but I am glad they did.”

In order to put the show on the girls and guys had to be on their “A” game to get on and off the stage and switched in and out there costumes for each dance piece.

“It was such a rush,” Cade said. “Getting on and off stage and changing was always in a rush.”

The Starlettes and the dance classes put in a lot of hard work in the little time they had to make their dances clean and performance ready.

“We had a little bit of time,” senior dancer Marisa Ocampo said. “We pulled it together and made it all work out.”

Some of the dances were special to some of the performers because they were able to perform for their friends and family instead of learning it for a grade.

“It was fun to learn the dances and perform them,” freshman dancer Kaili Minks said. “We got to show off what we learned and it just wasn’t for a grade.”
