Steven Brown competes in a Big Questions debate round at the NSDA national qualifying tournament in February 2023 at West Hardin High School.
The speech and debate team competed at the College Park High School tournament Friday and Saturday. The team finished tied for 10th place overall.
Individually, the following students placed:
- Melanie Roman placed fifth in informative speaking
- Camila Blancas placed fifth in poetry
- Daniela Vargas placed fourth in poetry
- Yovana Sanchez placed third in prose
- Breshad Robinson advanced to quarterfinals in Lincoln-Douglas debate
- Steven Brown was named tournament champion in foreign extemporaneous speaking
The team will compete again at the Klein High School tournament Sept. 22-23.
