Grand Texas - A Houston-area theme park

After not gathering the funds and many complications with the recent alleged dinosaur themed amusement park that was supposed to be built in New Caney, there has been news that the park has filed for bankruptcy. Instead, a park entitled “Grand Texas” will be built.

This new park will include 150 acres of entertainment that includes roller coasters, water rides, dozens of midway games and attractions, an adventure park with zip lines and a ropes course, daily shows in multiple entertainment areas, equestrian trails, a petting zoo, and much more.

“Prepare to be transported back in time to the early days of Texas, when it was a vast frontier full of intrigue & excitement, as you enter the gates of Grand Texas Theme Park! Through vivid storytelling & entertainment, thrilling rides and much more, your family will be immersed in the Texas of long ago.”

This is how the parks’ website, www.grandtx.com, describes your experience when visiting their theme park.

“The concept of the Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District is that this a destination for everyone to go to and spend time doing various activities,” Developer Monty Galland said. “Two of the parcels on the south side of the land on FM 242 is what we call Hospitality Village where a 136-space RV resort known as the Shady Oaks RV resort will be located and two hotels that have about 175 rooms. We would like to announce we have a partner that will provide a service station for these particular avenues as well as numerous restaurants and shopping.”
