Nursing Career Information Opportunities

For students interested in going into the nursing field, St. Luke’s hospital at the woodlands is holding a Nursing Career and First Aid Day on Saturday, April 5, 2014. This event will be held from nine in the morning to noon in conference rooms 1 through 4.
For those who come, they will be able to speak with nursing and hospital faculty, as well as students from Sam Houston State University. This will involve a question and answers session as well as information about how to apply to colleges and nursing programs.
Attendees will also gain some hands-on experience. They’ll practice making splints and be able to look at their veins using some leading technology. They’ll also learn about treating snake and insect bites, the signs of a stroke, drug overdose, alcohol poisoning, triage and head/neck injuries.
This conference will allow students to be a part of a valuable opportunity, one that will teach them more about a career in nursing and in first aid. Everyone is welcome at this seminar, so long as they are 14 years old or older.
