How would other people describe you as an athlete?

I think other people would describe me as hardworking and focused.

How and why did you start playing?

Keep scrolling to read more!

I did gymnastics for 10 years then I hyperextended a nerve in my spine which caused me to not be able to do gymnastics anymore. After the injury, I started basketball in freshman year and stuck with it.

Describe how you prepare before a game/tournament.

My preparations start the night before, I watch videos of the team we are going against and see how they play. Then I watch the specific people that I think I will be guarding and see what their weaknesses are.

For people that have never played your sport, what do you think the average person gets wrong about it?

That we don’t have to be as physical as we are during a game.

What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?

Before every game, I tap my right foot on the court twice for good luck.

Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.

My favorite memory was when I was a gymnast and won first in state.

Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.

I am proud of myself for staying positive and blocking out all the background noise. I know what I want to do and I will do anything to make sure I get there.

As an athlete, who is someone you are thankful for and why?

I am thankful for Sofia Lozano, she stayed by my side throughout the years and always kept it real with me.

What advice would you give to your younger self when you began playing?

Never forget why you started this!

What’s on your sports bucket list?

Short term goal, I want to be playing at least 70% of the game but long term goal; I want to play college basketball for a D3 school.
