How would other people describe your high-school self?
Weird, I was friends with everybody, most of my friends were also weird.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching?
I wanted to work in a lab doing research but it’s hard because you have to have experience to work in a lab and I had no experience.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
My whole family are teachers and when I didn’t get a lab job I was like “oh, lets try this.” but I never thought I would be a teacher because my mom always said how kids were bad.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I have a lot of pets but I don’t have a lot of free time. I’m a loser, so I just play video games.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
I’m super nice and caring and I go out of my way for people.
What is your hidden talent?
My patience.
What is something you know a weird amount about that isn’t related to something you teach?
Bugs and random science.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
Where I am in life, I’m married, successful, and I have a career that is rewarding.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
My parents because they have always been there for me and my husband because he’s an amazing person and puts up with my silliness.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t take things so seriously.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
Being a great teacher and inspiring my students to be great.
What’s on your bucket list?
I want to go to Europe or Japan because I never really traveled.
