LOOK AHEAD: Powder puff sign ups open, CADY final senior picture day, Junior Jumpstart nears

FINISH LINE. Berenice Lopez (12) runs to the end of the end zone on March 30, 2023. Lopez was trying to score some points on the scoreboard without getting her flags pulled on. “Once I got the ball I ran,” Lopez said “I was just trying to score for my team and at least get some points.”

NAHS members and other art students will be competing at VASE competition on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024.

Powderpuff sign ups are now open, students must sign up using the QR code. The cost to participate is $15 which pays for your class shirt. Permission slips and shirt forms are in a folder outside of  Tracy Underwood’s  Room in 4309, slips must be returned March 1, 2024.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Underwood at

 Junior Jumpstart will be held at the Jett Center on Feb. 27, 2024 from 6:00 -8:30 p.m. Juniors and parents take sessions about topics related to options after high school. Students needing transportation to the event can receive a permission slip to ride a bus to the location, permission slips are located in the College & Career Center.

CADY will be having its final senior picture day on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024. Students need to sign up through their website before going to the session.  Seniors who miss the in- school sessions will have to go to the studio. The final date to be photographed will be Sunday, March 3, 2024.

NEW MANAGEMENT. Senior Bridgette Miranda, revises a gallery on the website on Oct 8, 2022. In May 2022, Stephen Green interviewed Miranda for a new position in staff, he was thinking of switching her from the boys sports editor to a photography editor, but he asked two questions for her to decide what she was going to end up with, therefore she chose the first one which led to her being a Web Editor in Chief. “The switch was really big, it was SUPER big and I didn’t think that I was gonna be running a whole bunch of people,” Miranda said. She realized that she had the knowledge to help out with her reporters even though in the beginning she thought she wasn’t gonna do enough to help out. “I thought I was just gonna sit around and do nothing, but I actually know how to read and fix stories, edit, help which makes me feel that’s the reason why he gave me the position and I honestly love it cause I was able to change the name and it’s like my journalism dream come true,” Miranda said.

Margarita Rangel is Website editor-in-Chief and a photographer on Student Media. She has been on staff for three years now, apart from Student Media she's also a member of some honor societies. Secretary in NAHS, member of NHS, NTHS, StuCo, and Key Club. Rangel is also the Caney Creek intern for Conroe ISD sports photography.  Favorite colors that bring her joy are Cobalt blue and Seafoam green. Her favorite band is Three Days Grace and is in love with DPR Ian and LIVE. She loves Criminals Minds, Greys Anatomy and streaming thriller Documentaries, her favorite horror movies is Insidious the Last Key.  SHE ALSO VERY MUCH ENJOYS SPENDING HER TIME WITH LIZ AND NAT. (she also did everyone profiles so when you get the chance tell her good job even if she cant take the compliment..)
