How would other people describe your high-school self?
Talented, over archiver, very smart, and someone knows a lot about music.
Was there a career you wanted to pursue OR pursued before teaching?
I wanted to pursue medicine before teaching.
Tell us about how you got into teaching.
I got into teaching because it’s my passion and I wanted to share what I’ve learned.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I like riding horses, gardening, and playing the bass as well.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
They are most surprised to learn that I am a very dedicated person to my job, I want to see my students succeed.
What is your hidden talent?
I can ride horses, play many instruments, and sew as well .
What is something you know a weird amount about that isn’t related to something you teach?
I know a lot about gardening.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I started playing the Cello late, and I was able to become a professional cellist. I played with very important people including the President of the United States.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I am very thankful for my 2 girls, but the person who I am most thankful for is my husband who has been there with me for many years.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t give up. Don’t let anyone let you tell you can’t do it.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
Never giving up.
What’s on your bucket list?
Go and visit Alaska or Canada during the summer.
What aspirations do you have for the future?
I want to see Caney Creek grow, I am very excited about the creek for the future.
