ROOP’S RALLY. Senior Mayah Roop looks back at her friends to make sure they’re also cheering for their side at the pep rally on Sept 12, 2025. Roop holds a sign that she made for the spirit day pep rally. “I love to make signs to show my school spirit and pride,” Roop said. “Being on the senior side at pep rallies is so bittersweet, it’s a feeling so hard to describe, knowing that this is my last year in this gym cheering with all my friends and classmates.”

Students gathered in the gym on Sept. 12 for the red, white, and blue themed pep rally.

SWAY AWAY. Senior Stacy Balderas swaying her folklorico skirt to the song El Toro Mambo as she dances on Sept. 11, 2025. The style of this dance originated in Sinaloa, Mexico. “At first, it’s like all of the nerves rush to you but as soon as you step foot on the stage it’s like everything goes away and like that’s the only thing that matters,” Balderas said.

Members of the Panteras en Fuego dance group competed at the Texas Dance Challenge on Sept. 11 in Houston.

Abrahm Hernandez (12) was practicing for his upcoming drill meet on Sept.10, 2025. ROTC usually has drill practices weekly every Monday and Wednesday. Hernandez mentions that from joining ROTC involuntarily, now became something big from his life. “They had put me in ROTC because P.E was full but I ended up liking it and giving it a try,” Hernandez said. “In my opinion it's a very fun experience.”
