How would other people describe you?
People might say as a hard working person.
How and why did you start playing?
I started playing volleyball because I saw my sister do it and it looked fun so I tried it and grew up to love the sport.
Describe how you prepare before a game.
Before a game I like to prepare by making sure I’ve drank a good amount of water and have eaten. The normally as a team we watch film to strategize and think of things we could do to win the game.
What do you think your reputation is as an athlete?
I think my reputation as an athlete is to just leave a good impression. I want people to love the sport as much as me and to really realize how fun the game of volleyball truly is.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
I always try to get myself hyped up before games by listening to music and honestly just getting myself loose. Listening to music puts me in a good mood and sometimes during games I’ll sing songs in my head just to enjoy the game a little more and realize I’m there to have fun and it’s ok if I make mistakes.
Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.
My favorite memory as an athlete is definitely when we beat Conroe. They came in thinking it would be an easy win but we ended up whooping them. Another reason it was my favorite memory is because I got to see my teammate get what they deserved. We have been putting so many hours into getting better and training and we finally put it into action.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I am most proud of myself for never giving up and how much I’ve grown not just skill wise but mindset wise.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I am most thankful for my family, I wouldn’t be where I am without them. They push me to be the best version of myself I could be, but would stick by me on the bad days too.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
Advice I’d give someone who might want to play a sport would probably be to forgive and forget, rather it’s forgiving yourself or someone else. Mindset is one of the most important skills in sports. Go into everything knowing you can do it and if you don’t the 1st time you will do it the next.
What’s on your bucket list?
One thing on my bucket list is that I want to go to Bora Bora one day.
