WORLD CLASS.Senior Tyler Groen Smiles for the camera on Wednesday Oct.16. Groen competed at an international level during the summer placing first in the country and moving on to japan to compete against international level. “I really liked Japan,” Groen said. “It was a good experience, everyone at the competition was really good. Im not gonna lie, I didnt understand anything they were telling me,I had to translate everything with my phone.”

Eubanks drove into the paint with the ball where he successfully got a point conversion, but the game ended in a defeat for the boys basketball varsity team. “We underestimated them since we had beaten them before already,” Eubanks said. “We could have done better.”

Calderon was fouled attempting a shot in the paint following he would make both free throws at the line easily. “I missed practice and wasnt playing until the second half,” Calderon said. “By then the momentum of the game had moved to Conroe.”

Perez was going for the loose ball while two Conroe guards followed attempting as well. “We could have won but we sold, you know,” Perez said. “On the offensive end I could have done more like finishing my layups.”

Pitre at the three point line was being guarded while he dribbled out to cut back inside and go into the paint, shooting and converting. “Come the second half we turned up and started hitting our shots,” Pitre said. “Theres still stuff to improve on, but I did my part.”

With no one defending him at the time, Garcia took his opportunity and shot the mid range. “We played good but if we had started with the intensity we had in the second half we could have overcome them,” Garcia said. “We needed to finish our layups and get more into the paint.”

The volleyball team finished its season with a victory over New Caney High School. “I think we played good, I just expected myself to play better but overall we played good as a team, Im happy I can finally go home after school,” Arreola said. “But I know Im going to want to be in season again in a couple days.”
