How would people describe you as a person?
I feel like people would say I am a leader, kind and smart.
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I crochet, watch movies, spend time with my family and run.
What Career would you like to pursue? Why?
I want to be a high school math teacher. I’ve always loved math ever since I was young. It’s always been easy for me, and I feel like it’s a much needed place to have good high school math teachers, because it can be such a hard subject for students.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
So sometimes I have, like, an RBF, so like, actually, like, how nice I am and how much I care. Like, if you are struggling in anything, like, I am there for you 100% I’m not gonna just keep to myself about it. I’m going to help you, I’m a very helpful person to my friends.
What’s on your phone background? Tell us why you chose that.
So right now I have flowers on a green background. Green is my favorite color, and I have different like wildflowers, because I love florals and everything like that.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
So my first year doing TAFE. It was our area of competition which qualified us for state, and I got a perfect score on my competition. I did “exploring non core subjects,” and I did a presentation about athletic training and what it’s like to be a trainer. I presented to a board of judges, and they said that I did everything amazing and gave me full marks.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m thankful for Linnie Dearing, she grounds me. I’ve known her since elementary school, and she’s always been the person to bring me back down to Earth. After an event has happened with training, she always helps me calm down, get back in the zone and get back to work.
What advice would you give to others?
Pay attention to the teachers. Sometimes they actually have something important to say, and it actually helps. And if the way that the teacher structures their notes doesn’t work for you, take the time to rewrite the notes.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I started the training wrestling program. So I’m hoping to actually leave a legacy of trainers who work wrestling, go to all the tournaments, home, events that weren’t there before. I pioneered wrestling trainers.
What’s on your bucket list?
Traveling outside the country, specifically to Australia.
