For students who are interested in the love of reading, Story Night is being hosted by the No Place for Hate Committee and the National English Honor Society. NEHS sponsor Katie McDevitt said students of all ages are invited to attend and enjoy the reading on Saturday, April 23 at Caney Creek High School.

“I came up with this idea to have an event where we can invite the elementary kids to and get them to have a love of reading for life,” McDevitt said.

Participants can win prizes and have fun.

“We are going to have several different activity rooms,” McDevitt said. “We are going to have crafts, projects, letter writing, and free prizes.”

No Place for Hate is also sponsoring activities based on anti-bullying kindness.

“(We will)  teach kids to be kind to others and expect that other people are different from them,” McDevitt said. “Not only the love of reading but how to treat other people.”
