SPORTS RECAPS 10/23-10/27: Volleyball finishes season

FOOTBALL

The varsity team lost against Oak Ridge Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 with a score of 0-55. The last game of the season will be this Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 against New Caney at Buddy Moorhead stadium.

VOLLEYBALL

The volleyball team won their last game of the season, Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 against New Caney winning 3-0.

SWIM

The Swim team had a meet last Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 at the Natatorium in Shenandoah against College Park. It resulted in a defeat, but everyone on the team set a new personal best. They have their next meet this Thursday, Nov. 2 , 2023 in New Caney.

BASKETBALL 

Boys have their first scrimmage this Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 against Chavez. They have their first game, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2023 against Klein Oak. 

Girls have their first scrimmage Monday, 30, 2023 against Porter. They have their first game Saturday, Nov. 7, 2023 against Huffman.

NEW MANAGEMENT. Senior Bridgette Miranda, revises a gallery on the website on Oct 8, 2022. In May 2022, Stephen Green interviewed Miranda for a new position in staff, he was thinking of switching her from the boys sports editor to a photography editor, but he asked two questions for her to decide what she was going to end up with, therefore she chose the first one which led to her being a Web Editor in Chief. “The switch was really big, it was SUPER big and I didn’t think that I was gonna be running a whole bunch of people,” Miranda said. She realized that she had the knowledge to help out with her reporters even though in the beginning she thought she wasn’t gonna do enough to help out. “I thought I was just gonna sit around and do nothing, but I actually know how to read and fix stories, edit, help which makes me feel that’s the reason why he gave me the position and I honestly love it cause I was able to change the name and it’s like my journalism dream come true,” Miranda said.

Rhyan Mar, Student Life Editor (Local)
Rhyan Mar is a Reporter for Student Media at Caney Creek High School. He reports events that are involved with todays occurrences at the school and around the world. He's in his first year involved in the organization, and was slightly involved with Key Club in 2022 only as a member, he is also involved with his church. Rhyan is mostly involved with only his classes and getting his work done. He hasn't received any major awards but strives to. A little more about Rhyan is, he's lived in the area all his life, worked as a lifeguard at Big Rivers, and he's the only person in his family with colored eyes. Rhyan also really enjoys shopping, games, and music.

Danny Noyola, Photography Editor
Danny noyola is a photographer and one of the three photo editors at Caney Creek High School. He is in charge of assigning camera equipment along with beats to each of the photographers. He is going on to his second year in staff. He enjoys taking pictures of Caney Creek athletics and in free time having a photoshoot with cars and trucks.
